Diode Laser Epiliation is a
clinically proven,
progressively permanent
hair removal system from which a
high-power laser
beam is sent deep into the
skin, where hair growth starts.
The
photon energy (laser radiation)
vaporizes and destroys the
hair follicle in a fraction of
a second for a lifelong
solution to embarrassing unwanted hair growth of the
face and body.
Intense Pulsed Light (also
known as 'Super Pulsed Light')
works similar to laser for
cosmetic procedures
but uses a powerful flash lamp
combined with precision optics
to deliver the photon
energy to the tissues.
It too is a progressively
permanent treatment.
Is
Laser or Pulsed Light Epilation
Dangerous?
No, the amount of laser or light energy
used is extremely small and
poses very little hazard to
the skin. It is mechanically
safe and controlled at every
stage of the application,
however, African peoples (skin
pigment rated on the
Fitzpatrick Scale as type 5 to
6) should avoid exposure to
diode laser and pulsed light radiation.
How many treatments will it take?
Many unwanted hair follicles
will not survive the first
session, however, most will
require four to six
treatments.
Stubborn hair growth (such as
a man's beard) will need 8 or
more applications over 90 days to achieve progressive permanency.
In most cases (and most areas of the body) no.
It generally feels like a mild
'pinch' which lasts only a
small fraction of a second.
Should a client have a high
degree of sensitivity to the
treatment, adjustments can be
made to the machine which will
reduce this sensation as well as
pre-treating with a numbing spray or ice pack.
Is Laser or Pulsed Light Epilation right for me?
It's for anyone rated
1-4 on the Fitzpatrick Scale
(most people fall into this
category) who feel they
deserve the satisfaction
only a flawless, hair-free
complexion can give.
Feeling good about yourself
"all the time" is important.
Laser and Pulsed Light hair removal is well worth the few hours investment and expense when you compare it to the hassle of daily plucking and other temporary hair removal methods.
Which is Better, Laser or
Pulsed Light?
The results achieved by
Laser and IPL/SPL epilation
are generally considered
'interchangeable', meaning
about equal. However,
each procedure has distinct
advantages. Laser
Epilation can shave the skin
while simultaneously
treating the follicle below,
whereas Pulsed Light does
not vaporize growth outside
of the follicle shaft.
Pulsed Light, on the other hand, has the ability to treat large areas in less time (due to the total overall energy being used). In terms of 'progressive permanency', they both
can produce an 80 to 90% reduction in ananagen hair growth activity within 90 days. Treatments should not be administered more than once per 10
day period (or three times a month).
