pulse duration of 0.09 seconds.
Pulse frequency is
user-adjustable from 1-7
emissions per second.
Unlike the Biotechnique Avance
'standard' laser epilators
(SLD15, 30, 50, 80 and 100
units) the SDL 'EC' line is
has a specially designed laser
head which is designed to be
in contact with the skin. This
allows for far greater
absorption and penetration of
the laser energy to the
desired tissues.
With surface laser epilation
(again, the standard SDL line)
a significant percentage of
the laser
 energy
simply bounces off
the skin
or is absorbed by the hair
itself. This creates quite an
impressive effect as the laser
'shaves' the skin while it treats
the follicles below, however,
of 180jcm2/second of energy
delivered this way, only about
120jcm2 will pass through the
skin. This is why the SDL EC
line was developed.
It is intended to be performed
in conjunction with a topical
gel paste (which also contains
lidocaine for additional
patient comfort). As the SDL EC
laser head glides across the
gel-coated skin it delivers
high fluence pulses deeply
into the desired tissues. The
results are faster and more
substantial than the standard SDL line of surface epilators.
 Each
power pulse has an
effective treatment area of
15mm wide
and
feels like a brief pinch.
Very
few patients would describe
the procedure as 'painful'.
For those few individuals who have a high degree of neural sensitivity, the use of a mild topical anesthetic is encouraged.
The Standard Output Diode Laser System has a very comfortable and versatile hand piece.
The instrument is balanced and amazingly light (under 1 pound) which substantially reduces operator fatigue.

Average safe and effective values for output intensity (fluence) and pulse frequency are included in the instruction material for various skin photo types.

If you are using cosmetics on the area to be treated containing retinoids (retin a, tretinoin, altinac, avita, trans retinoic acid, vitamin A acid, tazorac, adapalene, differin), or AHA (alpha hydroxyl acids, glycolic acid) stop using the cosmetic at least two days before the laser treatment. If you have been taking Accutane (isotretinoin) you should be off of it for two to six months before laser treatment. If you have had a microdermabrasion on the area to be treated it is best to wait seven to ten days before laser treatment.

This warranty shall extend for a period of 1 year from the date of delivery. Laser diodes and IPL flash lamps are warranted against failure for 5,000 hours (approximate continuous usage of 1 year). Should your system arrive damaged or in otherwise incomplete/unacceptable condition please refer to the warranty repair card in your instruction packet to expedite the return.
